It's not the matter of application because I have experienced that in almost every 3D application. And you have to nod and smile if the owner tells you they use temperature monitoring software so it can't be heat. They work fine until they crash with the black screen.I didn't get the 8800GT, I borrowed it from someone who doesn't need it to check if it's a video card issue.
