Editor's note - quite often, these issues are being caused by the hardware itself, so what we could recommend you is to try and have a look a this list of Right click on the driver and select uninstall. If the icon is still absent, there are some more things in Device Manager you can try in order to fix this problem. I also have a Dell Inspiron 51550 and I used to be able to put in both R AND RW cd's into it and play them back. This issue could be caused by some software compilation, which is related to Windows 10, but if disc drive disappears after some time of using Windows 10, the problem might be was using Roxio. For some reason nowwhen I try to burn music, my programs show that it is burning andfinishing off, then when I check the disk there is only 1KB on eachsong, and I am now at a loss please can someone help me.
