This was due to a EFI GPT (Mac partitioned USB Drive) not showing on my Windows laptop (was showing as a new HDD ready to be partitioned like new). MY pc is running Windows XP and that was my Idea to clone my drive and put it in his computer . . . The process for doing this in TestDisk can be tedious so you may want to try using the free version of Recuva first. I wonder if there was an update that killed it.

Definitely, if there is no hard disk for users to select in this screen, they will fail to install or reinstall Windows. I tried every possibe HDD Utility (boot sector editors etc.) but i was unable to see the whole 1Tb.

when i went on disk management it wasnt there, but i can see it on device manager under disk drives. Is this a non-destructive format? This is the safest and cheapest recover route to take.
