DDR3 Video Card On DDR2 Board?


It talks to the system memory (when it needs to) via standard protocols; it doesn't care what the system's memory technology is. So i am planin to change the GPU alone.Some say u can slot in a ddr3 graphics card into a ddr2 motherboard.Suggest me guys!!!! Mar 18, 2008 Does it matter if you use a DDR3 or DDR2 video card? The reason is that the DDR3/GDDR3/whatever refers to the memory that's physically on the video card, not the system memory that it uses for DMA or for storing textures. If it works, will I be missing out on performance that I would otherwise get with a motherboard that supports DDR3 memory? with a tight budget.

doesn't matter.the 5450 will run fine provided the drivers are installed for it.
