After that experience I could run a marshmallow with a screen and it would still be faster then that HP. permalinkembedsaveparentgive gold[–]Hekkk 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago(0 children)I have been using Windows 8 for a little over 2 months and run FFXI with no issues what so ever. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The Dell Studio XPS 16 is also a nice system, and a much better deal than the Alienware if you're willing to sacrifice an inch and a quarter off your screen. https://forums.techguy.org/threads/help-with-ffxi-on-m17x.799434/

Thanks. One thing to keep in mind; I went from a HP Pavillion to an Alienware. I don't mind it being an older laptop, it would just be to play a little FFXI when I am not at home for work.

Oddba11 replied Feb 10, 2017 at 12:27 PM Where to go... was'nt exp. the 266.xx driver I used is for nvidia, not sure if there is an equivilent for radeon though im sure there is. silverhalo replied Feb 10, 2017 at 12:15 PM Loading...

At $1100, the G73 simply rapes the Studio XPS 16 and gives the Alienware a great run for the money, all while looking, in my opinion, much better. I apparently closed the first thread accidentally. It also has a Core i7 and 6GB RAM. https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxi/comments/15yv9u/laptops_and_ffxi_need_a_recommendation_for_a_fix/ i wasnt able to try the driver fix, so im still having the issue.

I have a new laptop that I'm trying to install FFXI on, but I can't get PlayOnline to work. tl;dr v1.0: Yes, that laptop will run FFXIV. I have a MSI 7970 lightning and 16 gb of ram and 4 SSD drives in raid 0 and it won't make a difference.

My laptop has issues unless I bump the resolution to near PS2 levels, but than again, it's a laptop video. http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/ I have yet to use the 266. It's best to just ignore the benchmark. I toyed with the idea of console, but it just seems to messy, and I am limited to anyplace with a TV to set up, which wouldn't be ideal 50% of

As long as you have an os (in your case vista), the latest drivers for your hardware, and all of it is working you shouldn't have to do any other configuration You don't need some new and incredibly awesome state of the art PC for FFXIV. RAIST06-27-2011, 02:53 AMWhen it comes to video cards, the most recent drivers and hardware are actually sometimes the problem with FFXI. Besides the peripherals the things to worry when building new computer is: Hard Drive(s), power supply (550watt), Mother Board, Video Card, Sound Card, Ethernet Card, and CPU, Case, and Operating system.

All in all, I perfer HP/Compaq, I've never had any such issues.I have always had a much better experience with HP then other brands, I doubt I'd ever buy a Dell, BUT ***CAN HAPPEN!) Had horrible, horrible heat issues, ***broke all the time, and the screen snapped off. Unless you're paying out the nose for a gaming lappie, there isn't a lot of them that will. #6 alreadyBAGGEDit View Profile View Posts 17 Feb, 2013 @ 10:44am If you Its windows 7 though so can't help on the win8 part.

I can play FFXI with no lag at all.

You can always take apart your old computer and transfer into new one some of the things mentioned above. and it's doing this to me on both XI's *windower, and official client* so I have no idea wtf is going on. I dont want to spend all this money and it doesnt run ffxiv well. (Please Assist) (Thank You) I know what u think, great another is my pc good enough for I don't really know anything about it.

Raksha06-27-2011, 02:22 AMIf it works in safe mode, but not normally, I bet it's a driver issue. All rights reserved. and if that doesnt work... wasted money is wasted.
