I was able to get it to boot from cd first not using the bios so I got windows installed etc. msi had some problems with their bios utilizing turbo correctly. Another issue I had with this new build was that my memory would fail Memtest only 30 secs or so into the tests. Yes, I would definitely advise you to avoid flashing BIOS on any board unless you actually have a problem.
