Let me explain my steps and how I finally solved this problem. Don't panic.       Monday, September 01, 2008 9:11 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote   Lyonspugs,   I followed your advice above and when it asked I also had to reload my web browser but you gave me square 1. It will not log in as administrator /safe mode either.

Its blocked my internet access and browsing. It only takes a couple of processes to get rid of the trojans the spyware has kindly downloaded without your permission. It was even in the register keys.   The virus disables your ability to restore setting because it erases all your restore points. I am having the same problem and am not a computer tech....I have no clue as to how to get my laptop connected to my main PC and I don't have

If you have ever run NTBackup and completed a system state backup, you do not have to follow the procedures in parts two and three.

All of those people who said that worked for them are living in some other universe. First I used knoppix to check whether userinit.exe exists in C:/windows/system32, it was there. Rootkits are very dangerous because they use advanced techniques (backdoors) as a means of accessing a computer system that bypasses security mechanisms and steal sensitive information which they send back to so enable that system hided file view always.

SOME PIPS CANNOT BE TRUSTED. in my case c:\ is my hdd with windows on it and d:\ is my dvdrom but I have other setups where its completely different now on a more serious note I don't care what Robes says, I would have your baby! I also checked permissions on these files with knoppix, everything fine.

This time the search result couls'nt able to locate the autorun.inf file alone and all other bugs are located and destroyed but still when i reboot the system the same problem Try booting into safe mode On starting your pc hold down the F8 key you should be taken to a menu to boot in safe mode. Who is the driver in your team? When you finish this procedure, the system returns to a state very close to the state before the problem occurred.

Will NOT boot in safe mode at all, and when I tried to use the Control Console route it asks for an administrative password (does not exist) and rejects blank password great site, with great tool Monday, August 25, 2008 5:29 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Well, that kind of worked, but not really.  I attempted to ID: 18   Posted September 10, 2008 Since this topic has had no reply for over 5 days it will be closed to prevent other from posting into it. Report ab- May 21, 2009 03:58AM i edit the registry c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe to c:\windows\system32\explorer.exe now after restart the laptop I can't log on when I am trying to login it go to In that type "administrator" in the name field and leave blank password field press "OK". By default, Stinger scans for rootkits, running processes, loaded modules, registry and directory locations known to be used by malware on a machine to keep scan times minimal. This is just a good general practice as it actually sped my computer up.   Restart your computer as you normally do and it should be gone.

It is a read only file so you will have to change it to normal by right clicking the file , selecting the properties and un-check the read only option Open Used BartPE to get access to the computer and used regedit to update the required information. (http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/) 4) This link was extremely valuable on how to load and edit the registry i had a problem with my laptop keep logged off itself..it just show my wallpaper and then it just log off itself..i'ved tried the safe mode but it didn't work either..what Mahalakshmi says: May 13, 2008 at 11:49 am Hi Amit, Now regedit.exe is working, i have searched for regsvr.exe files.
