Can A Blown Power Supply Damage A Motherboard

The PSU did not even start the computer which meant it is the motherboard. I can confirm that it is highly unlikely that the power supply caused your USB issues as this unfortunately would usually be related to a USB device or a motherboard failure. Doesn't that look like the PSU might be doing exactly what you suggest - finding a fault and shorting out? There are components that will hold enough electricity to kill someone.

He bought his PC as a package and I don't think the suppliers gave him any choice on the PSU but I could be wrong. The same motherboard was not running satisfactorily with the evga psu.
