Wireless Dell Laptop Vista Doesn't See Wired Desktop Vista Printers

The only way I can connect wireless is though a non secure system. It won't be spinning 24/7 though, but probably won't power down either. it refused to stay checked. Right-click on the shared printer and select Properties.
